Growing Up
There are so many wonderful memories that I have from my years growing up, and I still have more memories yet to make. It is crazy how fast time goes by. Before you know it, you are a senior in high school and about to go into the college world. I had a lot of hobbies growing up that I still have today and still have a real passion for. One of the first hobbies was riding dirt bikes. I've been on dirt bikes ever since I was able to walk. The first bike I ever had was a Yamaha PW 50. I have been riding ever since. My oldest brother Dustin has always been the conservative type. Me, on the other hand, I have always been the dare devil type. I can remember him always talking me into doing something he knew was a bad idea and that he wouldn't do, but I would do it. I've had quite a few injuries from that. We would go out and make our own jumps and stuff, and before he would ever jump them, he would say, "Casey try this. I believe you got it man." So there I would go wide open and end up crashing with him standing off to the side laughing like crazy. Once I got older and to the age of about thirteen, I started racing. That's when the real fun started. There is a race track close to my house and through the summer every Thursday night I would go to practice and every Saturday was race day. During this time with me getting better and faster and always pushing the limits, there were a lot of crashes and bad injuries. The worst crash and the one that put me out of my racing career happened on a Thursday night practice at Daniels Ridge. Going over a hundred foot jump that I had been jumping got the best of me. After that, the serious riding was over. Still to this day though, I love riding and do it almost everyday. Lots of other good memories come from playing football. I started playing when I was five. The love of the game has only grown. This past football season has stood out to me more than probably any other. We went through a coaching change but that is what made it so interesting. Finally, during my senior season, I got to run the football! Throughout the season I became the 10th person to rush for over 1000 yards in a season. Although it wasn't the best season, it was fun and something I'll never forget. These are just a few things that stuck out to me while growing up and some of the good memories I have that will always be with me.
